I am plannig on doing some kind of rock/indie magazine. The band which I might base the magazine around is my brothers. They are a similar style to the enemy and kasabian.I want to base my cover around this one, so I am going to have the lead guitarist/singer in the front of the cover with text over the top. This will help to draw attention to the band being in the magazine.
Vladamir propp-theory on characters
•October 6, 2009 • Leave a CommentVladamir propp was one of the first people to develope a character theory for studying media texts and productions. He recognised that there were seven main character types in the one hundred tales he viewed they are used in alarge number of medias.
- The villain (struggles against the hero)
- The donor (prepares the hero or gives the hero some magical object)
- The (magical) helper (helps the hero in the quest)
- The princess (person the hero marries, often sought for during the narrative)
- Her father
- The dispatcher (character who makes the lack known and sends the hero off)
- The hero or victim/seeker hero, reacts to the donor, weds the princess

Starting the school magazine design.
•September 30, 2009 • Leave a CommentThis is what i did in my first lesson.

I started with this image, its of two people standing in front of the sports hall. I choose this picture because my title for the magazine is called structure and this image shows a structure in the back ground. I cropped this image so that you cannot see the back blur in the corner.

I also faded this image into my background. I did this because its low angle shot, showing the structure of a building it good because it shows the contrast between the sky and the angles in the building. I cropped the image so the main focus was one the angles of the bulding blue sky.

This is the final background. This took me about one lesson of taking pictures and the actual making of the background.
